Todd Beasley spoke to the Brooks Rotary Club about technology he helped create to capture carbon.
Technology which started as a science project in Stuart Iwaasa’s garage is now being used on five of the world’s continents and is now part of world changing carbon capture technology being applied to ignite the coal fired power plant industry. “We’re talking post coal combustion carbon capture – technology which is intersecting the emissions from power plant smokestacks and removing it, virtually completely” says Todd Beasley chief operating officer and founder of CCR Technologies Inc. The Saskatchewan Government through Sask Power, together with Shell Cansolve Technologies has installed the technology as the world’s first at the Boundary Dam power complex near Estevan, SK. CCR Technologies is supporting the project by developing chemistry purification systems and procedures at its plant here in Brooks.
